Busy Busy

Hi all of you who follow this blogs (millions of viewers, I'm sure)!
Our life has been extraordinarily busy these last few weeks. One night Dan and I looked at each other and we both knew that life just seemed a little out of control. We are so thankful to both have the opportunity to go to graduate school and pursue the careers we enjoy, but also feel like we may never have a quiet night with nothing to do to spend together. Many of our friends who are working tell us of their daily adventures after the 5:00 hour and we aren't able to fathom what we would do if 5:00 meant nothing to do until morning. Maybe someday (like retirement!)
On another note, Dan and I have had a lot of laughs sharing our life with two puppies with big personalities. Here is what they remind us of:

Last random thought of the day: Does anyone remember the children's singer Raffi? Anyway, at school we had to learn about a part of the face called the raphe and I couldn't stop thinking that the name sounded awfully similar to a dorky singer. Sure enough, youtube confirmed it and I have spend the last 5 minutes of my life listening to "Baby Beluga" and "The Peanut Butter Sandwich" song. Does anyone know if he actually wrote all of these classics??

Craziness Ensues

Ha! I am just laughing at my last blog entry. My life is obviously two extremes because now I am going CRAZY with too many things to do. Here is a typical day in the life of an optometry grad student:

6:15 am- Alarm. I can't complain. Dan's woke up (and woke me up) about two hours ago and has already left. Stumble to the kitchen to let the dogs out.
6:45 am- Off to catch the metro train. This way I have a 40 minute commute on the train and I can get much more don than being stuck in traffic.
7:45 am- Arrive at school for my 8:00 class.
8:00am-5:00pm- Listen to lecture after lecture without more than a 5 minute potty break (except an hour for lunch when I chat and study with friends).
5:15- Catch the metro to come back home.
6:15- Arrive at home. Laugh at my puppies as they get sooo excited to see me.
6:30-7:00- Dinner. Dan and I usually watch a TIVOed Jeopardy and compete against eachother. We don't actually keep score, because when we have it gets ugly (dorks, I know).
7:00-12:00- My five hours of studying. Maybe fit in a work out. I'm not sure if this is standard for all of my classmates, but I've found this is about how long it takes to barely keep up with things. Sometimes during this time I will do something around the house. This schedule shows me just why my house is a disaster most of the time. It's depressing to feel like you are always sprinting and never quite keeping up.

So, as you can see, this is why I don't have much of anything exciting to blog about. This is my oh so predictable life. I love it most of the time, though!
